About This File

All Classic, TBC and WotLK clothing textures upscaled to x4, downscaled by 50% and then converted to BLP.

vanilla and TBC textures really get a nice boost from this.
Thx to the model-changing discord for pointing me in the right direction with things here.

TODO:

  • Correct distortions, AI upscale errors on effected textures.
  • Upscale/denoise items such as: Shoulders/Head/Cape/Shield/Weapons etc. etc.

EDIT: Thanks to those of you who have pointed out some distortion or oddities in some of the textures. I didn't catch these and will improve them for the net release.

What's new you ask?

Well, now both helms and armor textures are now contained in one singular MPQ - so you may delete the other two. I've fixed all green textures. Any textures that were busted have been deleted so that the original texture will display instead. This one took some time @_@

Additionally, I have included upscaled herbalist and mining nodes as well as some doodads. Neato! If you don't like them just delete the World folder from within the MPQ.

Things I'd like to bother doing:

Go through the doodads and clean up their edges in Photoshop so they display even more cleanly.
Maybe one day go back and fix the borked textures upscales. Probably won't though.

Hey! Love the work btw. If I were to give you race files would you be willing to upscale their textures to higher than 512? (if that is even possible)

Do you mean the player character models themselves or the npc baked textures?

Is there any way to make this work on textures used on old models like AQ etc, have you already done that at any point and I missed it?

If you mean the armors from AQ then it should work. No changes to m2s were made - just the texture files.

No I mean the literal textures on models, like the walls of AQ,  Stuff like this, just the regular BLP's that make up m2's and WMO's

Both

EDIT: Sorry for the double post my internet went bad for a sec, if the character models themselves aren't possible that's fine, doing npc baked textures would definitely be cool to though!

Great job!

Is it possible to backport it to TBC client?

Only issue I've found so far is that the helmet of the Scarlet Paladin was green textured.
