Here is my multi converter, it can convert m2, wmo, adt, wdt and anim (7.3.5) from Legion to be used on wotlk (map can be visited with the client or edited with noggit).

M2 using .skel are not supported.

 

To use it just open it then drag and drop the files you want to convert (or a folder containing some, subfolder included) and click on "Fix", the files will be overwritten and it will delete the files that are unused on wotlk. If the .skin files are in the same folder they will be converted too.

 

M2 already converted to LK format won't be converted again. As for WMO converting them multiple time won't affect them.

ADT need their _tex0 and _obj0 counterpart to be converted.

Warning: don't take the WDL files from blizzard, they have changed and causes wow error.

Warning 2: the next releases of Noggit will require you to use the version 3.3 or newer, the m2 converted with the old versions were missing some data that Noggit now need, without it'll crash.

What needs to be done :

  • Fix forward flying animation for a few models
  • Animation particles
  • Set WMOs liquid types that correspond when the ID is too high
  • Set fel liquid to green lava on adt for a better / more accurate look

Some map might not look good because several effect like texture scaling that aren't there in wotlk, the 2 additional layers for texture introduced in wod, ...

 

For those who want to report a problem :

Tell me on which model(s) you've seen the problem and add screen(s), it help me fixing the problem faster. And send me your error.log where there are errors during the conversion !!

And please use an external website to upload the screens because each time I upload a new version the screenshots in comments appear in the changelog for some reasons and I have to delete them which also delete them from the comments :/

Does the M2 Converter only works for Items / Creatures?

Or can i use it for Objects too?

Because the "Date Changed" on M2s and Skins does not change when i try to use it on Objects.

Yes it's intended for Items/Creatures and Objects (I haven't tested the v1.1x with objects but it should works fine, tell me if you've got something wrong).

Also I forgot to write this in the changelog but I know check if the version of the m2 is 264 or below (which means the m2 is supposed to work in LK) and if it's the case I don't convert the model. This way you can add unconverted models in a folder with already converted model and convert them without risking to corrupt the LK models in the folder.

Your problem may be that you're using already partially converted model that have 264 as Version.

Extracted them via CASC, nothing changed.

Most of the Models work now with your Converter, awesome, Thanks! :)

But im getting a few Problems here and there:

Cant load some M2s from Cata via the Modelviewer:

Edit: They got the Version 272, the "Date Changed" does not change when im using your converter on them

It's strange, I just test some of your models and it worked fine, same for a large amount of models, they were all converted.

I've reuploaded the program just in case try downloading it again.

Great tool,btw I can't seem to fix my particle blp particle errors... I used last build blps and still they don't work :(

You have some missing some textures, mines works just fine :

Have you taken only this model or some others too ?

Edit : I see on the chat that you have other artifacts, maybe I've got the textures elsewhere or you don't take all the required ones for this model.

I just took the model from last build,converted it then added the last build blps too(I done these all using your converter).I've got this error for many other artifacts.Maybe my client has something?

i redownloaded it and got the same Problem.

Example:

World\Generic\goblin\passivedoodads\goblinmachinery\goblinweathervane.m2+ skin

or

World\Generic\Goblin\PassiveDoodads\BBQ\Goblin_BBQ_01.m2

i extracted both from CASC, opened your converter - dragged them in - pressed Fix ( The last modified date didnt change )

When i try to open them with Modelviewer ( Custom Patch ) i get this error:

20:03:20: Loading model: World\Generic\goblin\passivedoodads\goblinmachinery\goblinweathervane.m2

20:03:20: Error:        Invalid model nameOfs=272/304!  May be corrupted.

I also opened the M2s in 010 Editor, both got version 272.

Note: i also extracted all the needing BLP Files.

I don't think it comes from the client.

I just tried with the last build, almost all my models worked fine, only a few shields might require some dbc edit to change the textures skin because I used an older dbc.

Here is my listfile : http://pastebin.com/DZDkCbQ1 (Some shield blps were in the weapon folder, I didn't check if it was still the case)

Try this version, if it still does not work I have no idea what's happening, maybe files permissions ?

Seems like I got them but looks like the client purely ignores them...idk what to do anymore... I mean I can see them in blp but it just purely ignores them like they aren't even there...

Could you try it yourself with :

World\Generic\Goblin\PassiveDoodads\BBQ\Goblin_BBQ_01.M2 + 0100 SKIN?

i tried all your Converters, tried different online storages, but each time convert it with your converter modelviewer crashes.

I tried it with WOD Models etc, the "last modified" date changes on them, but not on the GENERIC\GOBLIN files ( which i need for an wmo ).

Is there a possibility to get a log file out of your converter?

I tried goblin_beanbag_0x.m2 earlier and didn't have any problem, I can add a log file if you want but tomorrow, I've got other things to do now sorry.

i tried Beanbag01-04, no one of them work :/

Edit: When i open BBQ_01.M2 with 010 Editor and using the M2Template1.bt Template on it im getting the following error:

http://prnt.sc/ai890c ( the error is the same, before and after using your converter )

Also im getting the same Error with every file in the GENERIC Folder inside World.

Ok I've found the problem, you have some model with the extension in upper case and I wasn't handling this case correctly, I'll update the converter soon to fix this.

I never had this problem because all my models are in lower case ^^'

thx for the update but can you check the spells like Felbreaker_orb_missile.m2 and many other have the same particules problem !

can you try to find a way to fix in the next update

 them because I tried and tried but didn't manage to fix the missile

Could you post a screenshot to show what's wrong ? I tried this model and it looked good so I don't know what it's supposed to look like :/

I know there is a particle problem on some models, I'm looking into that right now. I've found something to make them look better but it's far from the originals (I'm using the runesaber as a test model).

and some spells like demon hunter eyebeam and many  more
